  1. This is one of the most beautifully rendered films ever made, and it makes you long for the days when hand-drawn animation was the only game in town. Also, this movie has the best musical score of any Disney film, ever.
However… I have a problem with taking depressing tragedies and turning them into children’s cartoons. That musical number sung by the bishop is creepy. I appreciate that Disney was getting more and more sophisticated during this period, but they needed to fully embrace the darkness of the story, or not make it at all.
    Still, I admire thier ambition.
